Thing #17 Wikis

Create a blog post about your findings. What did you find interesting? What types of applications within libraries might work well with a wiki?

I think wikis are great ways to share and access information. I recently went to a gaming conference in Chicago sponsored by ALA. The wiki was event based. I accessed the site many times before the conference, during the conference and after. It has basically taken the place of a paper program. It even had a chat function that we could use while at the conference to chat with other attendees.

I think KDL could use wikis. It would be a great staff resource tool. The subs could use it as well instead of the folders they have that holds all the branch info.
